The natural beech wood chair PONTI 969 designed by Gio Ponti is a re-design of the original chair launched at the VI Triennale in Milan in 1936.

This piece exemplifies Ponti's classical style, where individual elements unite to create a unique whole. The twisting pattern of the backrest pays homage to adornment turned structural. The cross-section under the seat plays with symmetry, introducing tension between the expected and unexpected, while the triangular legs elegantly flare at the top and bottom.
