LEUCA sunglasses, designed by Cristiano Ferilli, are made of Sikalindi®, a prickly pear fibre-based material.
The sunglasses have an oversized and vintage frame, inspired by the Italian port of Leuca. The lenses are available in gradient cerulean and light blue, inspired by the sea, and in dark blue, inspired by the seabed.
Sikalindi® fibre won the 2013 Oscar Green Award, a Salentino and 100% Made in Italy material. The prickly pear is a fast-growing plant that can reproduce quickly spontaneously. The fibre is extracted through a patented and completely eco-sustainable dehydration method without the use of pollutants.
