SALON RÉVÉLATIONS, PARIS
Under the spectacular glass dome of the Grand Palais in Paris, the "Salon Révélations" attracts and selects 400 masters of luxury in art, craftsmanship and design from 20 countries. Every two years, it becomes the epicentre of those who love art crafts and their productions. The artists of the material bring to this pagan temple of good taste and creativity original and unique works that reveal the universal excellence of artistic crafts and together enhance the typicality of raw materials and craftsmanship. Lovers of luxury, collectors in search of particular objects, designers, artistic directors of luxury houses, trendsetters: all converge in the French salon that mixes with the ease of an impossible formula to go wrong, workshops and factories, galleries, Maison of excellence, foundations and institutions, which demonstrate the current vitality of artistic crafts.
AUCTION SALES, EXHIBITIONS AND COLLATERAL EVENTS IN THE 2019 EDITION
We will have to wait two years for the next edition, given that the 2019 edition took place in May (for four days from 23 to 26) with an audience success of around 40,000 visitors. In the scenography designed by Adrien Gardère, the avenue of luxury artisans has extended over a further 500 square meters with new avenues created to encourage dialogue between visitors and creators. Furthermore - like any self-respecting event - Révélations has sprouted in the city, with "off" appointments in luxury spaces or unusual corners: from the Grand Museum of Perfume to the Deyrolle cabinet of natural curiosities, up to an auction of contemporary pieces of excellence, selected by Charlotte du Vivier-Lebrun and Côme Rémy.
ITALY SIGNS TWICE WITH DESIGNERS AND ARTISANS UNITED IN ONE OBJECT
This year, Italy responded to the call of the Grand Palais with the tried and tested Double Signature proposal: the enhancement project of the Cologni Foundation and the Michelangelo Foundation which since 2016 has supported the synergy between the most interesting designers of the contemporary scene and the great masters of art, with their peculiar shops. In Paris, therefore, the 19 creations that had just shown in the Milan Design Week arrived this year. In the bouquet that went beyond Italian borders to bring together designers and prestigious European manufacturers, personalities such as Patricia Urquiola, a Spanish designer with a studio in Milan who created a set of layered wood trays with the master cabinetmakers of the Bottega Ghianda, found partners that become multicoloured. Or like the Parisian Victoria Wilmotte who in Tuscany found the artisans of the Giorgio Angeli studio, to create a pair of marble tables or the Apulian designer Vito Nesta who created wallpapers inspired by the 1930s decò, with the boys of San Patrignano Design Lab.
