Stefano Boeri Architetti
Architect and urban planner, Stefano Boeri is Professor at Politecnico in Milan and visiting Professor at several international universities. He is Director of the Future City Lab at Tongji University in Shanghai: a post-doctoral research program which explores the future of contemporary metropolis under the perspectives of biodiversity and urban forestry. In November 2018, he has been Co-Chair of the Scientific Committee for the first World Forum on Urban Forests, organized in Mantua together with FAO.
Director of the reviews Domus and Abitare and author of several publications, Stefano Boeri was Councilor for Culture in Milan from 2011 to 2013 and in February 2018 he has been appointed President of Fondazione La Triennale di Milano. Stefano Boeri Architetti’s work ranges from the production of urban visions and architectures to the interior design. The focus on the relationship between city and nature leads to the creation of Vertical Forest, that conceives vegetation as an essential element of architecture. Built in Milan in 2014, the Vertical Forest has received many international awards. The studio - based in Milan and with offices in Shanghai and Tirana - is working on international projects of urban forestry such as the General Local Plan Tirana 2030, the Vertical Forests in Paris, Lausanne, Utrecht, Eindhoven and Nanjing and several models of Forest City all over the world.
