Le plateau rond en porcelaine - Poisson est le fruit de la collaboration entre Cassina, Richard Ginori et la Fondation Le Corbusier. Cassina s'inspire du génie de Le Corbusier pour une collection de trois plateaux en pure porcelaine non émaillée.
Ces plateaux reprennent certains des symboles en bas-relief choisis pour les murs des bâtiments de Chandigarh, la ville conçue dans les années '50 et aujourd'hui inscrite au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. Le même procédé se retrouve à Marseille dans l’Unité d’Habitation sur les sculptures moulées, dessins symboliques incrustés par Le Corbusier dans le béton – béton brut – extrait de son portfolio figuratif.
Chaque plateau, réalisé par Richard Ginori, présente un dessin esquissé par le Maître en 1956 : la main ouverte symbolisant la paix (plateau carré aux angles arrondis), le poisson (plateau rond), le mouvement du soleil (plateau rectangulaire).
