The e-commerce platform also forges a partnership with Syncronia to streamline interior design processes

Design Italy is an e-commerce platform dedicated to Italian-made design. Founded between 2019 and 2020 by Roberto Ferrari, its mission is to promote Italian excellence on a global scale, starting with small manufacturing businesses, providing them with technological, logistical, and marketing support.

"The initial idea was to build a transversal 'made in Italy' platform that could bring together well-established international brands with emerging and smaller brands. This would provide them with a high-profile e-commerce platform, essentially offering a turnkey service, including customer service, technological support, marketing, and sales," says Roberto Ferrari, CEO and founder, in an interview with Startupbusiness. "We began with smaller brands and then expanded to more prominent ones. However, we don't aim to have everything. We want to select the best that, in our view, can represent high-end contemporary Italian design in the world. It's a journey, much like what Yoox or Eataly did or, to cite two recent examples dear to us in the Italian e-tailer scene, what Velasca or Tannico are doing."

Today, with over 200 carefully selected brands, including Italian design industry pillars like Cassina, Poltrona Frau, Martinelli Luce, Stilnovo, Talenti, Missoni Home, Driade, Design Italy distributes authentic Italian design pieces to over 100 countries worldwide. The platform showcases over 20,000 items, all made in Italy, spanning various categories, including home decor, lighting, accessories, fashion, special collections, and provides architects and end customers with a unique experience complemented by high-quality customer service.

The Partnership with Syncronia

Recently, Design Italy entered into a partnership with Syncronia, an online portal that offers services for architecture and interior design. This strategic collaboration, valid worldwide for both B2B and B2C clients, provides companies and architects with access to cutting-edge technologies, including CAD and BIM models, and other technical tools essential for various stages of design. In over a decade of operation, Syncronia has built a database of over 350,000 designers with whom they constantly engage.
