Design Italy Presents Cassina

By Chiara Colmegna

We’ve just expanded our catalog with furnishings and home decor by Cassina. Projects by the great masters of design can be found along with new designs and innovative reissues.

Cassina – which was recently included in the Italian register of historical brands of national interest – has risen to the challenge of the demands of contemporary design while upholding its dedication to the craftsmanship and quality of its Italian-made creations and to preserving the heritage of Italian design’s influence on the 20th century.

New designs and reissues of iconic pieces

One of Cassina’s latest collections is The Cassina Perspective Goes Outdoor, which conveys the company's philosophy through pieces designed for outdoor spaces. New creations include the FICUPALA lighting collection with its slightly retro feel, whereas at Milan Design Week last June, Gaetano Pesce’s iconic TRAMONTO A NEW YORK sofa was back as a limited-edition piece.

Cassina’s research and development hub Cassina LAB has the task of adapting timeless pieces to new sustainability demands. Thanks to the project, the company issued armchair SORIANA in 100% recycled PET padding, as well as an environmentally friendly version of armchair "2. Fauteuil Grand Confort, Durable".

Creativity and modernity are the bedrock of Cassina’s collection of accessories, including Charlotte Perriand’s Le Monde tableware, designed in collaboration with historic company Ginori 1735 and inspired by photographs by Perriand, designer and architect.

The Le Corbusier collection: shaping the history of industrial design

We certainly can’t fail to mention the timeless Le Corbusier collection, which since 1965 has been produced in Italy since 1965 exclusively by Cassina after the company obtained the rights to Le Corbusier’s designs. From armchair "3. Fauteuil Grand Confort, Grand Modèle" by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand to stool "14. Tabouret Maison du Brésil" by Le Corbusier, this iconic collection that influenced the history of design was created in the late 1920s thanks to the partnership between Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret. The collection features elegant and comfortable furnishings designed to support posture.

When it comes to Cassina designs, whether chairs, tables, upholstered furniture or accessories, Cassina’s artisans see to even the smallest of details. Discover Cassina on Design Italy!
