DESIGN ITALY EDITORIAL by Cristina Morozzi - Travel in Italy 5 - TRENTINO
The fifth stop of "Travel to Italy" takes us to Trentino, one of the most beautiful regions in Italy. Not only nature and uncontaminated spaces but also culture, exhibitions and displays of purchasable objects.
Mountains are one of the most looked for and desired destinations to enjoy the summer: large spaces rich in nature such as the Dolomites offer not only healthy outdoor activities but also interesting cultural tours.
For those wishing to immerse themselves completely in the culture and history of Trentino, it will be possible to enjoy dedicated tours to admire the frescoes of the late Middle Ages in the Buoncosiglio Castle in Trento, the beautiful Duomo with its baroque chapel and the Museum of Sciences and Natural History.
There are many shops where you can buy typical objects and clothing of this Italian region: in Bolzano you can buy the classic Tyrolean jackets and “lederhosen”, leather trousers with felt decorations. Dirndls are the classic costumes worn by women, made of fabrics with various floral patterns, with low-necked bustier, tight at the waist and with round buttons in burnished silver. In combination, there is also the apron in a contrasting color, in the same pattern as the Dirndl.
In the Val Pusteria, in Brunico, it will be possible to buy the classics Paraboot in natural leather, perfect for excursions to the heights and from the Franz weaving the Tyrolean linen fabrics. Another recommended stop is a visit to the Moessmer wool mill, founded in 1894, where you can buy the classic loden and boiled wool garments.
