Architect and designer Francesca Cutini was born in Perugia and lives and works in Milan, where she owns architectural firm StudioDodici and has completed a considerable number of projects in Italy and abroad. In 2011, she founded BARREL12, a project to use old recycled materials in order to create design objects that adapt to indoor and outdoor use, as well as to create sustainable pieces with character and uniqueness. This was her approach in repurposing barrels and transforming them into ambitious and functional pieces of design for both indoor and outdoor use. "The need to transform apparently-unusable objects into something with a new identity" Each BARREL12 collection piece comes with wheels. Available in different colours in addition to a version in a Corten finish, BARREL pieces include seats, ottomans, planting pots and sinks and can be tailored to customers' requests and tastes.
