Buti Pelletterie
Buti Pelletterie’s story began in the heart of Tuscany in the 1950s, when founder Pilade Buti decided to work with leather to create various objects and baskets.
The company grew rapidly, and Pilade began a meticulous search for artisans and hired various skilled, creative professionals. He then decided to move the company to Cascine di Buti, where its headquarters are currently located and where he hosted the company’s employees in his home and in that of his brother.
One of his trusted employees was Alcide Bravi, who became Pilade’s right-hand man for over 40 years. Alcide was a modelist and designer for the brand and constantly created new products that were ahead of their time.
In the 1970s, the brand became famous internationally and many celebrities became regular customers. The brand was advertised in the most important sector magazines and on national television networks, with its handbags gaining the name of “Le Belle Italiane Del Mondo”.
A story of family, passion, tradition and innovation
Later on, the second generation of the Buti family also began working for the company. In the 1980s, Pilade’s eldest son, Amerigo Buti, became the Sales and Product Development Manager, and his brother Federico took on the role of Administrative Director.
Despite the economic downturn in the early 2000s, the Buti family opened their first Belgian boutique in Knokke. They later opened another store in Florence, the city of leather par excellence, and a second one in 2019.
Last year, another store opened in Saudi Arabia, and a shop will soon open in Jeddah thanks to the invaluable support of longtime employee Rolina Al-Wassia.
The Buti brand is currently available in Benelux, Japan, USA, Malaysia, France, Switzerland, Germany, USA and Saudi Arabia.
