Loredana Giulioli
Loredana Giulioli lives and works in Milan where, after years of creative direction in events and communication, she studied weaving at Paola Besana's school and began embroidering using a sewing machine. The embroidery with which she experiments with contemporary forms of illustration is free motion machine embroidery, an embroidery technique where the embroidery is created freehand with a sewing machine.
Fabric is a canvas on which to tell stories.
The seam becomes a graphic sign that creates drawings and words and the fabric a canvas to illustrate. Structure, texture and colour of the fabric together with the thread tell the subject of the embroidery.
She collaborates with 24Ore Cultura, creating thematic embroideries for Mudec, Palazzo Reale and Fabbrica del Vapore for art exhibitions, holds workshops and laboratories and creates fittings and textile objects for designers and stylists.
