A beautiful set of nine limited-edition ceramic plates, MAMMIFERI ESCLUSI was designed by Piatto Unico in Italy in 2017.
Mammiferi Esclusi (meaning "all but mammals") is the first self-produced dinnerware collection by Piatto Unico and includes large dinner plates and small bread/butter/appetizer plates.
The designs on each plate represent three elements of nature: the starfish represents water, the snail and frog represent earth, and the bee and the dragonfly represent air. The illustrations were inspired by various XIX century scientific sources, before and after Darwin's discoveries.
These ceramic plates were crafted using old moulds used traditionally in the Veneto region of Italy.
Any small differences or imperfections are part of the handmade process and make each piece unique.
