The exhibition unites designs, installations, creative processes and experiments
As part of the 23rd International Exhibition, Italian design museum Triennale di Milano, directed by Marco Sammicheli, is hosting the exhibition La tradizione del nuovo (The Tradition of the New). Starting from the Triennale’s collection and the archives of past exhibitions, the event shows how Italian design has always had an approach aimed at aesthetic and functional innovation, with a great deal of dedication to research of new materials and technology that would lead the way to new types of creativity.
The exhibition unites designs, installations, creative processes and experiments with staging by design studio Zaven – based in Venice and founded in 2006 by Enrica Cavarzan and Marco Zavagno – that takes visitors on a path full of surprises and with a focus on the excellence of Italian design between 1964 and 1966. The setting gives off a more homey feel instead of the sensation of being in a museum, and the skillful choice of pieces offer an unprecedented and fascinating representation of Italian design.
