Neo-Baroque Report
From September 22 to 24, the third edition of the "Neo-Baroque" festival, conceived and curated by Roberto Semprini, took place in Ragusa Ibla.
The program featured a series of art and design exhibitions in the baroque palaces and churches of the city, as well as a series of lectures on the contemporary "Neo-baroque" trend. Among the speakers were artists, designers, university professors, theorists, and philosophers.
Reflecting on Neo-Baroque in the picturesque setting of Ragusa Ibla allowed for a deeper exploration of the connection between contemporary art and historical currents. This provided a prominent place for the Neo-Baroque trend, often confined to the realm of artistic craftsmanship and overlooked by contemporary design, within the realms of both theory and design. It laid the groundwork for the resurgence of a new Baroque era, not only in the realm of stylistic design but also in the avant-garde sector.
