Contemporary table lamp ASHANGHAI was designed by Max Ingrand in 1955 and was manufactured in Italy for FontanaArte.

This highly elegant table lamp was designed when this French maestro was the artistic director at FontanaArte. Brass-plated joints hold together five tubes made of transparent borosilicate glass that form a series of intersections that support the lamp. 

Diffused light and dimmable switch. Brass-plated body along with transparent borosilicate glass tubes. Transparent power cable, dimmer and plug. European two-pin plug. Bulb not included. CE Certification.

Max Ingrand

A famous French master glass worker and decorator, he was artistic director of FontanaArte for one decade, starting from 1954. During that time, he came up with true design classics, such as the Fontana table lamp, still one of the best selling products for the company that bears its name. Having studied at the school of Fine Arts in Paris, he specialised in the decorative Arts, under the guidance of major artists such as Jacques Grüber and Charles Lemaresquier. He produced a great number of stained glass panels for religious buildings, hotels and public places, and was awarded the French Legion of Honour.
