SERENA CONFALONIERI

Serena Confalonieri (1980) is an independent designer and art director based in Milan. She works on product, graphic and textile design projects and collaborates with many Italian and international companies. Her work is a middle-ground between product and graphic design.

After completing a master's degree in interior design, she began her career, working for many architectural and design firms in Milan, Barcelona and Berlin and collaborating with the Department of Interior Design of the Polytechnic University of Milan as an assistant professor. In 2013, she debuted at the Milan Design Week with her Flamingo rug, produced by Nodus.

Accurate research of surfaces is always present in my projects.

Over the years, she has been selected for design residencies and workshops in Italy and abroad (New York, Mexico, Portugal). Her works have been published by important newspapers and magazines (The New York Times, Corriere della Sera, Il sole 24 ore, Wallpaper, Interni, Ottagono, L’Officiel, Elle Décor…).

She has also won prizes, including a Special Mention at the Young Design Awards 2014 and the German Design Awards 2016. Her works have been exhibited in important locations such as the Triennale di Milano and the Rossana Orlandi gallery.
