ORU is a marble wall lamp that was designed by Stella Orlandino for KIMANO and was produced in Italy.
The lamp, shaped like a fan, was inspired by and named in part after the Japanese art of origami. When switched off, Oru is a delicate wall decoration, a light sheet of paper folded by skilled hands. And when switched on, its transparent reflections create a warm, sophisticated atmosphere.
Made from white Carrara marble with a finely ribbed surface, it has a powder-coated iron support. The challenge here was to take a heavy material like marble and make it light, mimicking Japanese origami paper.
