Zanotta
A Legacy of Italian Design Excellence by Zanotta
Zanotta was founded in 1954 by Aurelio Zanotta and is part of a group of companies that have made "made in Italy" famous worldwide. The company has introduced fun, beauty, and innovation to the world of home furnishings.
One of their notable products is the Sacco armchair, designed by Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini, and Franco Teodoro in 1968, which was featured in a comedy film with Ugo Fantozzi, where he struggles to sit in the chair. The Sacco was the first beanbag chair, filled with small polystyrene balls that made it adapt to the shape of the person sitting in it. Other famous products include the Mezzadro stool and the Leonardo work table, designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1969.
Zanotta in the World of Design
Zanotta continues to innovate, collaborating with internationally renowned designers to create new products that reflect current trends and modern needs. Among the latest releases are the Maggiolina Armchair, a tribute to Marco Zanuso's original 1947 design, and the Hiro Sofa, designed by Damian Williamson.
Over the past years, Zanotta has undergone significant changes that have reinforced its position as a leader in Italian design. The company has collaborated with internationally renowned designers, invested in new sustainable materials and technologies, and expanded its global presence with new market strategies and international showrooms. The renewal of the creative direction and the increasing focus on sustainability have further elevated the brand, ensuring that each product remains aesthetic, functional, and environmentally friendly.
Zanotta is not just a brand but a symbol of Italian design recognized worldwide. Every piece in the collection represents a blend of quality, innovation, and artisanal tradition. The continuous search for cutting-edge materials and technologies allows Zanotta to offer products that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and durable.
