Casa Marras

Casa Marras

Marras’ showroom was created in a magical, dreamlike place: the vegetable garden of the Pois siblings, whom Marras uses as inspiration for the line of ceramics dedicated to them. Luchino, Teresina and Gennarino Pois had a special passion for vegetables, for polka dots, and for circles, and they are shown on plates, coffee sets, jugs, glasses, and serving dishes.

Guests were welcomed in a courtyard with an olive tree in the middle, roses, hydrangeas, peonies, lilies and wisteria. The house was adorned with sofas and carpets, painted walls, and had objects like magazines and books everywhere.

The Pois Family involved the Rana Family, who are famous for their ravioli, in opening a bistro and an restaurant to satisfy curious, cosmopolitan guests and lovers of beauty.

I have no limits, no boundaries, no walls. I peacefully invade all areas

Today this magical place, at Via Cola Di Rienzo in Milan, is where you can find Antonio Marras when he’s not in his beloved Alghero in Sardinia.

In 1987 Marras designed his first collection. In 1991 he was selected to show at Rome’s AltaRoma, and in 1992 he presented his collection in Paris and regularly shows in Milan during fashion week.

To call him a designer is an understatement. Antonio Marras is a well-rounded, creative, skilful contaminator who uses design, art, and music to tell fascinating stories. His fashion shows are always dedicated to historical female characters who have captured his attention, and his elaborate creations often have embroidery and patchwork using various types of fabric. His presentations are not just seasonal fashion shows, but choreographies created to display the poetic component of his clothing.

His talent is also expressed in theatrical costumes, installations, and in design with a rare elegance, and he draws inspiration from different eras and contexts, blending new and vintage.

His latest creation is ceramics, with the FRATELLI POIS collection, in collaboration with Apulian company Kiasmo.
