Battista Pininfarina
Revolutionizing the Industry Forever with Italian Design
Battista Pininfarina, the founder of Pininfarina S.P.A, an Italian car and design company was always passionate about cars. At 12 years old, he began working in his brother’s body shop,“Stabilimenti Farina”, where he gained his skills in car bodywork and fostered his ambition to design his own cars in the future. His breakthrough came when he started collaborating with Ferrari in 1952. Ever since Pininfarina passed away, the company has remained a family-run business.
While on a visit in the United States, he had the opportunity to work for Ford Motor Company after being personally invited by Henry Ford himself. However, despite the offer, Pininfarina chose to remain in Italy.
Pininfarina gained significant international respect and recognition. His talent was acknowledged by prestigious institutions such as the MoMA in New York. He was also granted memberships in organizations such as the Royal Society of Arts in London and the Engineer and Architect Society of Turin. He also received the prestigious Gran Premio Nazionale Compasso d'Oro award.
Though the company continued to collaborate with esteemed international car brands, in 1986, it introduced "Pininfarina Extra" in which they expanded their services to include industrial design, interior design, architecture, and graphic design consulting. They also made a ‘writing and accessories collection by Pinifarina Segno’, which consisted of elegant and inkless writing pens.
We invite you to explore our collection and elevate your writing experience.
