DESIGN ITALY IN THE WORLD
CAPRI
Capri, located in the Gulf of Naples, is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and the remains of Roman emperors' villas that have inspired the nineteenth-century villas along its coast. The botanical gardens on the island are filled with the delightful fragrances of orange blossoms, citrus fruits, and red bougainvillaea and have been home to unique events, stories, and characters throughout history.
Curzio Malaparte, who had his famous home built here, wrote: "I would like the houses all to be made of beautiful stone, well squared, with the roof terraces opening onto the gulfs of the sky..." Capri embodies an inherent sense of refined living, where the art of blending history and modernity creates an atmosphere of exceptional hospitality.
Looking to furnish your house with inspiration from the beautiful island of Capri?
Here are some tips and ideas to get you started.
THE TERRACE
The white and blue marble mosaics are reminiscent of the traditional art style of the Amalfi coast, featuring geometric compositions. The Randal Azul mosaic, crafted by Sicis, is an ideal choice for flooring both indoors and outdoors in a dream seaside apartment.
This outdoor furniture set includes the Rock Table by Jean Marie Massaud, which is made of durable fibre-reinforced concrete and designed to resist saltiness. The table's granulated surface adds a decorative touch. The Sof Sof seat by Enzo Mari is also part of the set, featuring comfortable cushions for cosy outdoor seating. The set also includes a floor lamp by Serralunga to enhance the ambience.
If you enjoy cooking, the Capri stainless steel kitchen island on wheels is the perfect addition to your outdoor cooking setup. It's fully equipped and provides an excellent view for inspiration while preparing food.
As friends unwind and enjoy games like table football, a highlight of this summer gathering is the impressive, oversized vases designed by Marc Sadler that serve as eye-catching decor.
LIVING ROOM
The Bordone Up curved sofa from MyHome Collection stands out as the main feature in the middle of the room. Its integrated swivel seat enables you to sit on either side comfortably.
The living area is informal and visually striking, with the unique geometric design of the Bixib armchairs created by Luca Alessandrini and the Serena Di Froscia coffee table.
The designer Denis Santachiara has created a pouffe that boasts archetypal shapes and a wide range of uses. Similarly impressive is the Tokyo Pop table stool, a sculpture crafted by the Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka.
The Fontana Arte Bianca lamp, designed by Matti Klenell, features a unique blown glass bulb diffuser with a textured surface that generates a soft and enveloping light throughout the surrounding space.
THE NIGHT AREA
The bed, named Wave, is exquisite. It is crafted out of hand-wrought iron and designed by Maria Cristina Hamel for a marine-inspired theme.
The cushions are adorned with shades reminiscent of Capri's natural stones and rocky surfaces. Next to the bed is a small, comfortable, and graceful Bonsai sofa, perfect for resting or reading.
Prospero Rasulo's bedside tables for Fiam resemble dancing jellyfish in curved glass, adding a playful touch to the bedroom decor.
The Neapolitan artist, Gennaro Regina, has captured the seaside atmosphere in his painting called "Notte Magica".
