SCOLLAMENTI TEMPORALI 6 is a paper collage handcrafted in Italy by Giulio Ceppi.
Collage made up of fashion advertising and print of "Lady Sériziat and her son's portrait" by Jacques-Louis David.
The portrait of Madame Serizat with her son is combined with a contemporary advertising image that incorporates the tones and colors of eighteenth-century fashion, however creating a temporal short circuit in which you can observe the nakedness of the model's body as opposed to the candid modesty of a mother.
In this diptych, Giulio Ceppi juxtaposes sections of the two prints so that the physicality of the bodies in the painting contrast but also blend with the models shown in the piece of advertising.
The artist employs an innovative method to simultaneously display two different works from very different periods in time. A combination of historical art with contemporary advertising that intermingles to form a single, harmonious piece.
This one-of-a-kind work was signed by the artist in 2017 and shown at Triennale di Milano in 2018.
